You will start from Piazza San Carlo, one of the most important squares in Turin. You will see the equestrian statue of Emanuele Filiberto standing in the center, while on the south side of the square are the twin Baroque-style churches of Santa Cristina built in 1639 and San Carlo built in 1619.

Admire the Baroque-style buildings and facade of Palazzo Carignano, home to the National Museum of the Italian Risorgimento.

The same square is also home to Teatro Carignano, one of the most important theaters in the city of Turin, and the historic Del Cambio Restaurant, the cradle of Piedmontese gastronomy.

Also located is Gelateria Pepino, one of the city's historic artisan ice cream shops. The gelateria invented the legendary pinguino, cream ice cream on a stick.
