3-Day Ghandruk Loop Trek from Pokhara

Trek into one of the popular destinations in the Annapurna region, Ghandruk. The beautiful village of Ghandruk is located in western Nepal and inhabited by the Gurung community. A spectacular panorama of the Himalayas in the Annapurna can be spotted from Ghandruk such as Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre. There’s also an old Gurung museum at the village. The trek is ideal for anyone who is looking into shorter hikes around Pokhara with easy trekking trails and no difficult ascends/descends.

Itinerary

Day 1: Pokhara to Ghandruk (5-6 hrs)

Pass By: Pokhara, Pokhara, Gandaki Zone, Western Region
Meet at your hotel and drive to Nayapul. Trekking starts from Nayapul ascending uphill to Ghandruk. En-route witness the majestic green forest and walk through rivers. Then finally reach Ghandruk. At Ghandruk, visit the Gurung museum. You can spot different mountains from Ghandruk like Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Annapurna II, Hinuchuli, Fishtail.


Stop At: Naya Pul, Lumle, Nepal
Nayapul is the starting point for most of the trek into the Annapurna region.

Ghandruk is a beautiful mountain village of Gurung community providing spectacular Himalayan panorama.
Duration: 12 hours

Annapurna is a massif in the Himalayas in north-central Nepal that includes one peak over 8,000 meters, thirteen peaks over 7,000 meters, and sixteen more over 6,000 meters.

Hiunchuli is a peak located in the Annapurna massif which is an extension of the Annapurna South.

Pass By: Machhapuchhare, Machhapuchchhre 33700, Nepal
Machhapuchhre or Fishtail is a mountain in the Annapurna Himalayas of north central Nepal. Its the the scared and unclimbed mountain.

Stop At: Old Gurung Museum, 5 Kaski, Ghandruk Nepal
Ghandruk museum at Ghandruk Village highlights various objects showcasing Gurung culture and traditions.

Day 2: Ghandruk to Pothana (5-6 hrs)

Stop At: Pothana, Dhampus 33700, Nepal
Early in the morning, enjoy the sunrise over the mountains as the first ray of the sun hits the Himalayas. Then after breakfast, trek to Pothana. At first you will have to descend down to Modi Khola then start climbing up to Landruk village. The trial passes thru paddy fields and reaches Deurali. Trekking further will arrive at Pothana.

Pothana is a small mountain village en-route several treks in the Annapurna region.

Pass By: Landruk, Landruk, Gandaki Zone, Western Region
Landruk is a small mountain settlement with several lodges and shops.

Pass By: Deurali 33700, Nepal
Deurali is a village from where the base camp of Mount Machapuchare is situated at a 6 hours uphill trek from the village.

Day 3: Pothana to Pokhara (3-4 hrs)

Stop At: Phedi Khola, Phedi Khola, Gandaki Zone, Western Region
Early in the morning, spent some time at Pothana. Pothana is on a ridge and offers great views of Annapurna massif, Fishtail and other mountains. The trek then begins to Phedi. En-route, witness some good views of the Himalayas and lush green forests. Upon reahing Phedi, your vehicle will be awaiting and drive you to Pokhara, and drop-off at your hotel.
Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Phedi Khola, Phedi Khola, Gandaki Zone, Western Region
Phedi is the trek end point from where you drive back to Pokhara.
Duration: 10 minutes
