ItineraryDay 1: Chiang Rai to Chiang Kong - Huay Xay,LaoStop At: Chiang Khong, Chiang Khong, Chiang Rai Province
Chiang Khong (เชียงของ) is a small town in Chiang Rai Province, Northern Thailand. It is mainly visited as a stop-off point en-route to Lao, and is the Thai counterpart to the Lao border town of Huay Xai, just across the Mekong.
We just pass Chiang Khong to across Thai-Low Bridge number 4 and you have to go to the bus across the border (included).You can bring the food or drink on the way to the border.

Houayxay (Huay Xai) is the capital of Bokeo province in Laos. While most travellers treat Huay Xai as a stopover to other destinations, this town has a beautiful landscape where you can enjoy outdoor fun such as hiking, kayaking, and biking. Its laidback setting appeals to those who want to try some local beer, relax on the banks of Mekong, and enjoy authentic Laotian dishes. From Chiang Khong border to Huay Xai around 30 min.

Day 2: Huay Xai to PakBeng,LaoStop At: Pak Beng, Pak Beng, Oudomxay Province
The van will pick up you around 9.00 am at Hauy Xai Hotel to the Luxury Boat to Pak Beng.
You will embark for the first time on one of our luxury boats for the Mekong downstream cruise. On the way, the boat will take its first stop in Pak Tha, to have necessary boat documents signed. The second stop will be to visit a Hill tribe village,KHMU Hilltribe along the Mekong River. Our guide will explain the way of living and the origins of these rural populations. Lunch is served on board, and during the afternoon, you will be free to relax and taste local flavors with seasonal snacks and drinks. The boat will arrive in Pakbeng before sunset, where you will retreat to your accommodation for the night.
Pakbeng is a small village in Laos, on the Mekong River, about halfway between the Thai border at Huay Xai and Luang Prabang, Laos. Pakbeng is connected by a sealed road with Oudomxay province along the Nam Beng River.
You have to book the hotel at Pak Beng by yourself.

Day 3: Pakbeng to Luang Prabang ,LaoStop At: Pak Ou Caves, Near Pak Ou the Tham Ting Near the Village of Ban Pak Ou - Mekong River, Ban Pak-Ou 0603 Laos
At 08:00 AM, the boat leaves Pakbeng. Use your free time in the morning for asking some questions about Luang Prabang and Laos to our guide. Lunch is served on board. In the afternoon, we will make two stop. First, we will visit the famous Pak Ou Caves (Tham Ting) and its thousands of Buddha images. The second stop will be at the Lao village, commonly known as the Whisky Village. In there, the guide will provide information about the locally made rice whisky, and you will have the chance to taste it if you wish. You will also have time to enjoy the charm of this small and authentic village, its temple and local artisans.

Stop At: Luang Prabang, Luang Prabang, Luang Prabang Province
The boat should finally dock in Luang Prabang at around 5:00pm and we will transfer you to your hotel.

Luang Prabang has both natural and historical sites. Phou Si, in the center of the town, has broad views of the town and river system, and is a popular place to watch the sun setting over the Mekong River. At the end of the main street of Luang Prabang is a night market where stalls sell shirts, bracelets, and other souvenirs. The Haw Kham Royal Palace Museum and the Wat Xieng Thong temple are among the best known historical sites. The town, particularly the main street, is dotted with many smaller wats. Every morning at sunrise, monks walk in a procession through the streets accepting alms offered by local residents, an event popular with tourists. Luang Prabang received 'Best City' in the Wanderlust Travel Awards 2015.
