Instead of taking a regular taxi to your accommodation and having to make time until you can check-in and hassling with your luggage, take a great and long scenic transfer through one of the most important parts of the island - Sete Cidades. You will be taken to the Lagoa do Canário park, from which entrance you can take a 15 minute walk to Grota do Inferno, the most famous and seek viewpoint of the Azores. Take your time here to enjoy being on top of the mountain and head back to the car when you are ready.

From the entrance of Lagoas Empadadas park you can take a 15 minute walk to visit this enchanting and very green twin lakes.

Stop At: Vista do Rei Miradouro, Sete Cidades, Sao Miguel 9555-000 Portugal

This is the view that makes the cover of all post cards of São Miguel island! Take time to gaze at it, soak in the volcano crater landscape while also exploring the famous quirky old abandoned hotel that is located here.

Take a break to enjoy a stroll around the village of Sete Cidades, have a coffee break and enjoy a walk alongside the margins of the lakes.

Stop At: Miradouro da Ponta do Escalvado, En1-1a, Varzea, Sao Miguel 9500-000 Portugal

Finish your Sete Cidades must see sights with a visit to the westernmost view point of the island - Escalvado Viewpoint, where you can have a 360º view over the coastline including Mosteiros and Ferraria.
