Itinerary

Day 1: Fukuoka to Nagasaki- Day 1

Stop At: Kagamiyama Observatory, Kagamiyama, Karatsu 847-0022 Saga Prefecture
One of the best Observation decks and lookouts in Kyushu without a doubt is Mount Kagami located in Karatsu in Saga Prefecture. It is only located approximately an hours drive from Fukuoka City and when seen on a beautiful day, it is a great start to any tour.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Karatsu Castle, 8-1 Higashijonai, Karatsu 847-0016 Saga Prefecture
One of the most amazing locations in all of Kyushu is without a doubt the Karatsu Castle. It is located on an island overlooking the Karatsu Bay with the Black Pine Forests of Niji no Matsubara in close proximity. Everything about this place screams Japanese! The history, the culture the architecture and of course its purpose, to crush any uprising and discontent in the ranks of its people and rival factions.
Duration: 40 minutes

Stop At: Shidayaki Village Museum, Japan, 849-1402 Saga, Ureshino, Shiotachō Ōaza Kuma, Otsu, 久間乙3073
Step back in time and explore a traditional Japanese Ceramic factory. It has been preserved by the local artisans to highlight the remarkable history and culture of the area.
Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Yutoku Inari Shrine, 1855 Furueda, Kashima 849-1321 Saga Prefecture
The Yutoku Shrine is one of the 4 main Inari Shrines in Japan. Marvel at its unique architecture and it's nature in a remote part of Saga Prefecture.
Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Oouo Shrine, 1874-9 Tara, Tara-cho, Fujitsu-gun 849-1602 Saga Prefecture
There is this attraction in the middle of Saga Prefecture, away from any major highway and city center that is gathering a rather lot of attention these days. It is called Oouo Shrine and a site that I have visited many times because of its uniqueness and incredible scenery it possesses.

The Shrine has 3 Torii gates that are strategically placed from the shoreline out into the picturesque and highly productive seaweed producing Ariake Sea. At high tide all 3 gates are covered with water at various depths, whilst at low tide one can wander around and fully inspect each Torii Gate and get a feel of what a 6 meter tidal range really means from an environmental and nature point of view.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Fruits Bus Stop, Konagaicho along National Road 207, Isahaya 854-0000 Nagasaki Prefecture
In the sleepy town of Konagai, Nagasaki Prefecture right on the boarder of Saga Prefecture there are some Unique Nagasaki Bus Stops that will stop you in your tracks and make you say to yourself, "Why haven't I ever seen this before-"

As you drive from one bus stop to the next, you will wonder what fruit or vegetable will come next. In some ways, when you don't see your favorite one you wonder why it hasn't been included and of course when you have passed the last one and headed into the next prefecture you will also have a slight feeling of disappointment that you won't see another one again in Japan, period!
Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Unzen Jigoku (Unzen Hell), Obamacho Unzen, Unzen 854-0621 Nagasaki Prefecture
Unzen Jigoku Hells in Nagasaki is located within the Unzen Town district and is designated as a National Park. It is where you will find many wild birds and alpine plants as well as other attractive features such as frost in winter (January to February) crimson foliage in autumn (October and November) cherry blossoms in Spring (March and April) and Azaleas in summer (May and June).

One can walk around the area within a reasonable amount of time (approx 30 to 40 mins), take a multitude of photos of plant and bird life around the hells area and also enjoy sulfur infused boiled eggs cooked within minutes right in front of your eyes. These eggs taste amazing and combined with just the right amount of salt for added tasting pleasure they are out of this world and will be absolutely the best boiled eggs you will ever taste in your life!
Duration: 35 minutes

Stop At: Hot Foot 105, 905-68 Obamacho Kitahommachi, Unzen 854-0514 Nagasaki Prefecture
The Obama Foot Bath in Nagasaki is one of the highest rated sites on Tour Nagasaki`s full day Nagasaki and Shimabara Peninsular tour. If its relaxation that you want then this is the place for you! Can you imagine just letting yourself go and releasing all that built up stress, then you have come to the right place indeed!!

The Obama Footpath is a place where you can come, chill out, enjoy some delicious steamed food, maybe even a alcoholic beverage or two and generally feel all that pressure of daily life just float away into the atmosphere.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Inasayama Observation Deck, 364 Inasamachi, Nagasaki 852-8011 Nagasaki Prefecture
The Mount Inasa Nightview in Nagasaki is a unbelievable place to visit. The daytime views are in a world of there own but in relation to the nighttime view it rates rather poorly in my opinion. Words don't explain this incredible place like the way they should and this view needs to be seen to be believed. Without a doubt one of the most scenic views in all of Nagasaki and probably in all of Japan. It is a place that I try to bring every visitor and customer that comes to Nagasaki as it really brings out the highlights of everything Nagasaki has to offer in terms of beauty and nature from its scenic location to its panorama.

Duration: 20 minutes

• Lunch: A sit down lunch or something on the go will be provided.

Day 2: Nagasaki to Fukuoka- Day 2

Stop At: Nagasaki Peace Park, Matsuyamamachi, Nagasaki 852-8118 Nagasaki Prefecture
The normal view of the Nagasaki Peace Park main statue is a powerful one, undeniably a moving experience and packed with sorrow but at the same time hope for the future. The reverse side however holds all the above but also in addition there is a feeling of doubt that mankind and humanity can actually learn from its mistakes and not go down that narrow windy path of devastation that the nuclear arms race has headed in the past and still does to some degree in this age of the 21st century.
Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum, 7-8 Hirano-machi, Nagasaki Nagasaki Prefecture
The Atomic Bomb Museum in Nagasaki is located in the park above the epicenter. It's exhibits show the overwhelming destruction caused by the bombing while also telling us the importance of world peace and the removal of weapons to protect the Earth from something like this ever happening again!

It is a very sobering place and definitely not for the faint hearted as the stories, exhibits and pictures are extremely graphic. There hasn't been a time when I haven't seen someone crying out loud and or emotionally uncontrollable. This museum definitely isn't every one's cup of tea. However, it is important to remember history and not to forget about the past as this is the way we don't make the same mistakes of the past. So, in that sense the museum can be a great place to come together and never let this happen again for the benefit of mankind.
Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Umegae Sake Brewery, 317, Jomacho, Sasebo 859-3237 Nagasaki Prefecture

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Hasamiyakimono Park, 2255-2 Isekigō, Hasami, Higashisonogi District, Nagasaki 859-3711, Japan
Hasami town has kept its tradition of producing daily-use ceramics for over four hundred years. To date, Hasami ceramics have 13% of the domestic market share in ceramics for everyday use in Japan. The Ceramics Park, which was coordinated by the legendary ceramic designer Masahiro Mori is definitely one of the highlights of the entire region. The park is extremely well laid out, has an easy walking course and allows for many amazing photos.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Izumiyama Large Ginkgo Tree, 1 Izumiyama, Arita-cho, Nishimatsura-gun 844-0001 Saga Prefecture
The quarry is not in operation these days but you will get a feel of its size and where the natural resources were sourced from to establish a pottery industry in Japan.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Dazaifu Tenmangu太宰府天満宮, 4-chōme-7-1 Saifu, Dazaifu, Fukuoka 818-0117, Japan
