Stop At: Wamala King's Tombs, Nansana, Wakiso Uganda

Our driver guide will pick you up from your Hotel or Residence and start an early morning drive to Wamala Tombs which is about 13 km north of Kampala city. Wamala is the sacred burial place of Kabaka Suuna II (1836-1856) the 29th King of the Buganda Kingdom, he had 148 wives and 218 children. Kabaka Suuna was the last King to be buried in his own palace and the last to have his jawbone removed after death. He was also the first King to admit traders into Buganda. A magical but almost forgotten place, where the first Arab traders first come to Buganda in 1844.

Stop At: Kasubi Tombs, Kasubi Hill, Kampala Uganda

Later drive to your next stop which is at the Kasubi tombs, situated on Kasubi Hill. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which was established in 1880, where royals of the Buganda kingdom are buried, it’s a burial ground for the four kings ‘Kabakas’ of Buganda, This is an important centre for the royal family, a place where the Kabaka and his representatives frequently carry out important rituals related to Buganda culture.

Stop At: Uganda Museum, 5-7 Kira Road Pob 365, Kampala Uganda

Proceed to the Uganda Museum Which is the oldest museum in East Africa which was started in 1908. It was first located in Lugard’s fort on old Kampala Hill then transferred to Makerere University at the school of industrial and fine arts and lastly to Kitante Hill where it stands today. It emerged when Governor George Wilson called for “all articles of interest in Uganda”. The museum is a collection of traditional culture and Ugandan Music with all kinds of musical instruments, archaeology, history, science, and natural history. The Museum is one of the top and best places to visit while on your Kampala city tour giving you the real picture of Uganda and its people.

Stop At: Kabaka's Palace, Lubiri Ring Road, Kampala Uganda

Later enjoy your Local traditional Ugandan Lunch at a local restaurant. After proceed to the king’s palace at Lubiri driving through the Nantaweta Royal mile Junction (a monument in form of a split drum) in the middle of the stretch from Bulange Mengo and the Lubiri Palace. Along this Mile are Buganda’s cultural Totems and norms that have been displayed. The King’s Palace of Buganda built-in 1922, is an ancient traditional kingdom in eastern and central Africa and is one of the most powerful kingdoms in pre-colonial Africa. While here you will get a chance to see the late president idd Amin’s prison and information about Amin’s torture chambers. At the gate of this palace is a traditional fire source that has never burnt out since the inception of the Buganda monarchy and shall never stop burning least a king is dead. Here is a representation of all Buganda Clans and their respective role in this Kingdom since the time of immemorial.

Proceed to the Kabaka’s Lake which was dug by the 52 Clans of Buganda on the orders of Kabaka Mwanga II from 1885 – 1888. The Plan of the King was to construct a channel wide enough for him to travel by boat to Lake Victoria for Fishing and Swimming. This is the Largest Excavated Lake in Africa.
