The minor basilica cathedral of Mazatlán, dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, is the main religious building in the city of Mazatlán, state of Sinaloa, Mexico, of baroque style, and seat of the diocese of Mazatlán. It is located in the historic center.
Although its architectural design is eclectic, its interior and exterior are a successful combination of neo-Moorish and neo-Gothic, very similar to the original Gothic that was used in the cathedrals of Bordeaux, Toledo, Siguenza and the Moorish of the Cordoba mosque.

Plaza Machado features French and Spanish-influenced architecture, and is one of the most attractive plazas in Mazatlan, as well as the main site of social activity in the historic center. Visit here to admire the old buildings, visit the elegant cafes and see the performances of the region's musicians.

The plaza, built in 1837 with money donated by wealthy Filipino merchant Juan Nepomuceno Machado, used to be a popular meeting place in the city. Today, the surrounding buildings have been restored to their original splendor. Check out the attractive colonial architecture, characterized by arches, Parisian-style balconies, and pastel colors.

Stop At: Monument to the Continuity of Life, P.º Claussen, Centro, 82000 Mazatlán, Sin., Mexico

The Monument to the Continuity of Life is a magnificent bronze work by the artist Pedro Jiménez Corona in which a couple can be seen standing on a snail, and in front of them a band of dolphins jumping in the water of a fountain. It symbolizes the beginning, the end and the balance of life, in addition to that respect that you must have towards nature. It can be admired in the Paseo Olas Altas.

The Monument to the Fisherman of the City of Mazatlan is located on Avenida del Mar. This is one of the most representative monuments of the city and is also known as "Los Monos Bichis", naked human figures in perfect harmony with marine elements such as a sailfish and a dolphin, as well as the silhouette of a reclining woman, all under a lighthouse.
