Long ago, in the ancient town of Philippopolis, amazing structures were built - places of worship, art, knowledge and entertainment. All of them still remain in the city - you can see authentic parts of stadiums, theaters and forums, and even step on the streets where Roman emperors used to walk.

Itinerary

"Roman Plovdiv" is a self-guided tour of the exposed remains of the Roman past of Plovdiv, from the time when the town was still referred to as Philippopolis. You'll be faced with 16 location-based riddles, all situated around the city center of Plovdiv. At each location you'll have to discover some elements from your surroundings that will help you find the solution to each riddle. This will reveal for you information about the historical sights you're visiting and the Roman past of Plovdiv. The route lenght is about 2.5km and it takes about 2 hours to complete.
