Hakone Yumoto is one of the first onsen towns when Hakone became a resort town in the Edo period. You will walk with guide along the famous souvenir street with lots of local Japanese snacks to try, plus you get to walk the famous bridge (Yumoto bridge) where there are sakura in spring and autumn red maple leaves in Autumn.

This chaya has a history of 400 years and it used to be a resting stop for travellers between Kyoto and Edo (now Tokyo)

Hakone Shrine is the power spot of Hakone area. It is a must-visit for tourists. Local people visit and pray here for their wish to come true. The torii gate on the water of Lake Ashi is one of the most photogenic spots in Hakone. There is always a long queue for taking photos in front of this gate.

Hakone town is surrounded by mountains and all these mountains have been formed after a number of volcanic activities in the area. Here in Owakudani, we can still see volcanic steam shooting up and smell the sulfur. The black egg boiled in this onsen water is strangely tasty and it has become a must-try delicacy for all the tourists.

This museum exhibits a collection of sculptures and large scale artworks by various international artists in the open air space. For its location and collection, this is one of the most popular museums in Hakone area.
