Bergen City 90-minute Private Tour by Electric Car

Established in the 1000s, Bergen is a spectacular city with a millennium-long rich history. There are many places in Bergen that bear the proof of this long history. For instance, the Bryggen, a UNESCO heritage site that was built in the 1300s and several buildings existing from 1700s in this area. St. Mary’s church is another example; built in the 1100s, it is often considered the oldest intact building in Bergen.
This 2-hour long car-tour is designed to take a trip down the history lane of Bergen and at the same time to take a glimpse of the contemporary iconic places of the city. As a bonus, we will visit a couple of viewpoints of Bergen to appreciate panoramic views of the Bergen city from high grounds.

Stop At: Bryggen, 5003 Bergen, Norway

Built almost a thousand years ago, Bryggen is the historical heart of Bergen. Although multiple fire incidents consumed the oden buildings over centuries, some buildings from 1700s do survive. It is a UNESCO cultural heritage site. Travelers, if wish, can spend 10 minutes here to take a glimpse and click a few shots.

Pass By: Bergenhus Fortress, Bergenhus, Bergen 5003 Norway

Built in the 1200s, this fortress is one of the most preserved of this kind in whole Norway, or perhaps in Europe. Today it is a large compound and beyond the scope of this tour. We will take a short glimpse of it from inside the car.

Stop At: St. Mary's Church, Dreggen 15, Bergen 5003 Norway

Built in the 1180s, and mostly intact, this is the oldest preserved building in Bergen. Truly a cultural landmark. We will stop for 5 minutes to see it from outside.

Viewpoint Bergen 1. After visiting 3 historical landmarks of Bergen, now would be the time to take a panoramic view of present-day Bergen from high ground. We will stop for 5 minutes

Pass By: Fish Market, Bergen Harbour, Bergen 5014 Norway

From the viewpoint at high ground, we will go to St. John’s church. But, we will deliberately take the route through the bustling city area to take a look at some of the iconic areas in Bergen. First comes the fish market. We will pass through the famous fish market of Bergen.

Viewpoint Bergen 2. Another viewpoint; this time to appreciate the view of the sea from Bergen port area.

Stop At: St John's Church, Nygardshoeyden 5007 Bergen, Bergen 5007 Norway

Built in the 1880s, it is fairly modern compared to the other old counterparts. But the red-brick made gothic revival architecture is a pleasure to the eyes. We will stop for 5 minutes.

After St. John’s church, we will be at the end of the city center trip. Before we go outside of the city center, we will pass through three other important places— University of Bergen, the city park area and then the Bergen railway station.
