Archeological Museum of Heraklion & City tour

During this private -guided tour you will experience and understand not only the way of living but also the evolution of a civilization that has been described as the first urban-palatial culture in Europe.

The museum houses representative artefacts from all periods of Cretan prehistory and history, covering a chronological span of over 5. 500 years from the Neolithic times to Roman period where the sculptures of that time have stories and myths to narrate us.

After our tour in the Museum we will continue on foot in order to explore the center of Heraklio, a city with a long history but also to able for you to visit different local markets where you can try typical snacks and delicacies just like a local.

The Lions in Heraklion is the square of the Fontana Morosini, the ornate Venetian fountain with four lions with water gushing from their mouths. The Fontana Morosini is in Eleftheriou Venizelou Square in the centre of Heraklion.
From there we will continue to see the old center and the buildings of Heraklion built by the Venetians
