Seafaring route with fresh fish tasting

Fishing tourism is a project that was born in 2017 whose objective is based on valuing the figure of the fisherman. An opening to the world of this ancient art. Since then, entrances to the fish market have been regulated so that only through this experience will you be able to attend a fish auction.

First we will do a short historical introduction to this fishing municipality, which is also one of the most important in the area.

Next we will explain the traditional fishing gear and the different types of professional fishing boats.
After watching the arrival of the boats and the unloading of the catches, we will enter the fish market to attend a royal fish auction. We will finish the route with a tasting of the fresh fish auctioned along with a drink.

With this experience we can enjoy the most authentic part of the coastal municipality. Our guides specialized in Fishing Tourism will discover the, until now, unknown world of fishermen.

Itinerary

We will begin with a brief historical introduction to the fishing origins of La Vila Joiosa.

Next we will explain what professional fishing consists of as well as the different fishing boats and traditional gear that they continue to use today.

We will see the different fishing gears while the fishing boats arrive and begin unloading the catches.

We will explain on site the boats, the main catches in the area and the entire process of how the fish gets from the sea to our table.

Once we have a clear idea of ​​professional fishing, we will access the fish market whose access is restricted only to our activities, and we will attend a real fish auction.

To finish, we will enjoy a tasting of fresh fish from the bay along with a drink (beer, wine and/or water). We will take advantage of that moment to clear up all doubts.
