Discover Utrecht City Centre with the Outside Escape Game

An Outside Escape is similar to an escape room, but outside, like a city walk. Step into an exciting story full of riddles and try to solve them together with your team mates. In the meantime, you get to see beautiful places in the city, hidden spots that are - even for locals - unfamiliar.

Start at any moment you like, all you need is a mobile phone. The tour is for 1 to 4 players, ages 15 and up and takes about 2 hours (2km walking).

Before 1870 this area was part of Nieuweroord. After the constuction of the Hoofdgebouw I of the Dutch Railroads, a small garden was created. The street south of this garden was called Moreelselaan.

Stop At: Mariaplaats, 3511 Utrecht, Netherlands

The Mariaplaats is a square in the Dutch city of Utrecht. It is named after the disappeared Maria Church. Surrounding it was a large square, of which the part to the north and the part to the east of the former church are still present and together form the Mariaplaats.

The Saint Gertrude's Cathedral in the Dutch city of Utrecht serves as the seat of the Old Catholic Archbishop and is the main church of the Old Catholic Church. It is located on Willemsplantsoen. The building was constructed between 1912 and 1914, designed by E.G. Wentink Jr., in the Neo-Romanesque style.

Between 1248 and 1267, the Regulierenklooster was founded between the Oudegracht and the Springweg by the Friars of the Sack. During the Second Council of Lyon in 1274, this mendicant order was dissolved, and the Regular Canons of St. Augustine took over the monastery in 1292.

The Dom Tower of Utrecht (Historical Saint Martin's Cathedral) is a distinctive Gothic church in the center of the Dutch city of Utrecht. The church was built from 1254 onwards as a continuation of the Romanesque cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Utrecht and was dedicated to Saint Martin. Since 1580, the church has been Protestant. The Dom Tower, standing at 112.32 meters, is the tallest church tower in the Netherlands and the tallest building in Utrecht.
